How Cancer Works, Jordan

“These diseases are all characterized by an abnormal and unregulated growth of cells. This growth destroys surrounding body tissues and may spread to other parts of the body in a process that is known as metastasis.” Dr. Jerry Gordon. As said in the quote, cancer is an unregulated and uncontrolled cell growth. Cancer can happen anywhere in the body, but usually is found in places like Lung, Brain, Breast, Prostate, and Colon. The Most common symptoms of cancer are Back Pain, a Breast Lump, Chest Pain, Chills, Dizziness, Dry Skin, Fever, Joint Pain, Rash, Sunburn. For cancer to take place, certain factors like a mutation in a gene that affects cell growth. This factor is very unpredictable and hard to control, but others like carcinogens we can. A carcinogens is what is known as a cancer-forming agent, it just make a tumor more likely to happen. These are things like Arsenic, asbestos, and nickel, which can cause lung and other cancers, Benzene, which can cause leukemia and, Formaldehyde, which can cause nasal and nasopharyngeal cancer.
